In the middle of the summer..

Did you go for your holiday already?
July is going to the end...
This time it was like a change of season.
Some people just came back from holiday, from their camps..
Some being packing their backpack and checking a list, ready to go!
Some, lucky ones, came back home to do their wash and laundry and were going again :-)

We are still waiting for our holiday..
It was great sun whole the week. Mama at work.
Thankfully boys could enjoy the sun with Daddy.
I was jealous! I want to warm myself too.
I was sitting out at lunch..to catch a little bit of this sunny weather.
I was counting down till Sunday, when I had to have OFF.
And what...and Sunday morning invited us with grey sky and clouds.
Yes. There was no sun at all!
Can you imagine my face and my mood this morning!
I was such a disappointed...
Finally I took into myself and tried to be happy that is still no rain though.
I was like a child, when can not get sth promised :-)
We went to the sea, had a BBQ, just couldn't get tan !
But kids had a great day.

I can't wait when we go..
I just keep going on my last feet's, but this a great feeling too..
Waiting for something, which supposed to be pleasure (not necessarily I'll be fully relaxed).
Kids are enjoying the summer in full.
Most of the day outside.
Day out minimum once a week.
No education activities or games.
They mostly do, what they want, especially with Daddy - he doesn't have that mum's feeling guilty, when kids are bored or doing sth not educational:-)
Probably they have one of the best summer in their life, so far.
Its a little bit colder tonight.
Hope the next Sunday will get the sunshine back!

Summer ? holidays started!

First week of summer holidays. It didn't gift us with wonderful weather. Raining.
Its not so bad for the moment. We enjoy sleeping 15 minutes longer (the younger man doesn't want to wait for his bootle of milk any longer:-)

We happy that we have a choice - can go out at any time, can stay at home and refresh a usage of any forgotten toys and games.

I had off today, so boys were double happy that I didn't go anywhere, didn't start to clean the house. I just was with them and all the time for them....
If you work 5 days a week up to 10 hours - you really can enjoy spending each minute with kids, talking about some important things...important for them.
Off course, I really can not look at some dust on the shelfs, sticky floor and pasta on the carpet...but today..I decided to forget about it.

I was drawing with them, playing on the floor, went for short walk in rain, spent few minutes in a toys store sharing their excitement of touching and looking at brand new, shiny toys and books:-)
Finally, I do not regret that weather wasn't great. It was really nice day...

Summer officially opened!

I don't know, what about you, but I love summer and high temperatures.
The sun just gives me a new energy and this kind of life power, like nothing else.
So, what I'm doing when it gets warmer outside? I am not hiding in a shade...
Never ever. Not me.
I jus taste the sun like the best drink and keep sitting out as much as possible..
Because I work full time now I have not so many chances to sit on the sun so when I've got two days off in one row, the only one idea was in my head...
Go to the beach:-)
So Tuesday morning we've packed our boot with all that stuff like spades, sand  buckets and blankets and went to Portmarnock beach.
I had some doubts, that Janek my run away, but thankfully, he was sleeping in a buggy for about one hour so I was able to build sun castle with Franek and when Janek woke up, they've been playing in full agreement (it looked like impossible, but happened) . I had about 2 hours to relax...
It was great.
I've got so much that new energy, that cleaned up whole house next day and it took me just about two hours:-)
Thankfully, I kept them with a sun hats on their heads, so they didn't get sun burn...
Hope we will get more days like this one and will be able to sit in the garden with a pool shortly..
New summer season, I say , is opened!

Children's diseases - overprotective or ignoring?

The weather is ignoring us a little bit.. as it is in Ireland, changes minimum 3 times a day...
Some children are less able to cope with those changes. Specially when sitting too much at home or wearing to warm. But I say honestly, I don't know what is a good choice. Would be easy to say - wear as an onion- layers...but we not always doing it...specially when have to manage going out and about with more than one kid...The days when the situation is not established we are more able to be gifted with some runny nose or cough, in a serious cases - ear or chest infection.
We may tray to avoid it some way, but we can't avoid such diseases as chicken pox...
I am a mama that is little bit ignoring some symptoms of a cold - I am not going to keep my kids at home when they're getting runny nose, because I think they will have a better breath outside..
I am not in panic when they'll get cough..just make some onion syrup.
For fever - paracetamol straight away and cold compress or cool bath.
The doctor and their antibiotics is the last point I am looking for.
I know. I shouldn't generalize.. But I just say what I would do.
But if we are talking about contagious disease such as chicken pox - I would be more careful myself.
In that case the condition of our child maybe worse than we think, a child is weak and needs a rest and we shouldn't share it..be responsible, please! Not too quick going outside.
When a child just came thru such a disease, I wouldn't keep him at home for another additional 2 weeks than needed, but I would introduce him back to the normal life in a little steps...
This is my way of dealing with the children's diseases. I wonder what would you do?

By the way, I couldn't wait and went for some shopping last weekend and may introduce you to the new H&M summer collection:-) Boys mainly wearing that stuff on the pics above! Honestly may recommend it - funny, colourful and not overpriced clothes :-) They have wide range to choose from..
