Where the tolerance comes from?

Why do we buy blue cloths for boys and pink for girls?
And only those are available in stores?
Why some toys are aloud for girls only or even same toys are available in two colours only - pink and blue?
What is the outcome of this differentiation?
This things annoyed me since I've got pregnant on the first time.
I was browsing for all the nursery stuff and just discovered it!
I knew I was expecting a boy, but I didn't want to have everything in blue.
I had to make huge effort to have colourful clothes, cardigans, vests, hats ..for my little boy. And than I met many voices surprised, when the've been asking about a girl, when there was a little boy in the orange buggy...with a red dummy:-)
This is nothing.
When my little boy was growing up, I wanted to get baby vacuum cleaner - he loved to hoover - but I couldn't get any in different colour than pink!
I am asking WHY is that?
Boys are not aloud to clean the house? What wrong with it? I think it's part of their development and make them ready for life, when their copying ANY mammy or daddy good behaviour.
And be careful - don't let your boy to play with a baby buggy and doll - it may describe him for a life...
My kids are growing up - when they wear pink or violet t-shirt or even red glasses - they might be watched carefully...
Franek had a bracelet at school.
The other kids asked him, why? Why is he wearing this, when just girls wearing bracelets..
But do you know what?
How our kids know what is ok or who is a stranger?
They copying us! When we are making our choices under public opinion pressure. They don't know which colours are boys or girls, which toys are boys or girls or which skin colour is better or not. They don't mind to play with everyone or everything. My Franek first ball was pink with a Barbie picture, because only this one was in stock, when I had a need to get one for him...and he still doesn't mind, what is one the picture, but most of adults will asked about it...
I think we should listen to our instincts and kids likes more, before we make a decision.
Have a respect to your own mind and your kid. Be yourself and try to do not teach our kids that sth makes a difference...

We've got an autumn, by the way..
The weather was keeping us in a great mood, specially for the last few weekends. We've got a real "indian summer" here.
My favourite colour of the season this year is a honey yellow.
I've got just this little vest for Janek, to keep him warm, when the weather changes every minute now.
But I've seen many fantastic clothes in this colour.
Chinos, jackets, cardigans and even sport suits...
Love it...its an Autumn, but still very bright and sunny colour:-)

Ireland's Eye

Brrr..I think the Autumn is coming..
It was really cold and raining in here today.
Crowds in the shopping centre...what we're gonna do in such a weather???
Yes - Autumn is really close. I hope that next weekend will be still sunny, because we have a plan to go to the farm.
While we've been kissed by the rain, I am sharing our last week trip to the very secret place - Ireland's Eye, Howth.
This is an island, we could always see going to Malahide or Howth marina.
We've been always thinking - what is there?
Is it private or anyone is living there?
I didn't know.
But one of our friends just told us, that we can go there by boat.
If you just klick on the link above - you can book a trip to the island with Irish Ferries.
We went there quite late afternoon, so couldn't stay too long, but the weather was still great and sightseeing - amazing!
Boys were running around happy to feel this kind of freedom, when no one else is there and you can just do, what you like.
There are only birds. Lots of birds.
And brilliant beach.
My advice is - put lots of fruits, drinks and snacks to your picnic basket and go there early morning to stay there for a day.
Would be grand :-)
Another thing happened that day!
Franek was frightened going on to the boat.
On the way in, he sat very close to me and was keeping my hand.
But he loved it, and on the way back,
he was brave enough to seat opposite us, just himself and was observing everything around.
Fantastic adventure!

I've been doing my first grocery shopping online last night, so I'll tell you a little bit about it next time - I'll have a some small give away nearly ready, so see you shortly :-)

Country festive and other stuff - continued memories...

Let's keep this fantastic summer spirit as long as possible!
As I said earlier We went home for holiday.
We went there as well, because we've been all invited for a wedding.
It was the first time, when I decided to go with kids.
I knew, it might be a little bit less fun for me, but I hoped that children will have a fun and will remember such a special event as a wedding within the family.
My parents took me for a couple of wedding, when I was a child and I loved it.
I had no idea, how my kids will go with it.
They are boys, so they might not be fancy with a special occasion wear and
how they'll get on with so many unknown people:-)
Off course they wouldn't stay in the church too long. Only few minutes, to be honest. As you can see on the picture below, Franek was bored and lied down on some bench. Janek had a walk around with Mr Daddy:-)
But when the wedding party started, they both have been dancing with me until they've got tired. They didn't run away or had no some stupid ideas how to play.
They've been plying and singing with us till about 9 pm, and than went, with no issues, to my sister home, so we could stay there with no worries, to the end.
I was so happy, that I took them there!
I just have no pictures, because we've been busy all the time:-)
Next day we had additional family dinner on the country side so kids could go around on the big, new, shiny tractor (will never forget it).
Next week we took part in a country festive called pardon.
There were a bouncing castles for kids and dancing with life music to the late.
As you can see, everyone could have  a great fun..
What else you want when on holiday?
Next time I'll take you to my family town, as I promised:-)

Saying I do...

I had an intention to say something about usual children's health issues...
But...my friend came in and we had a chat about meaning of the marriage!
Started to watch old pics and remind our weddings and how happy and pretty day it was...
How young we've been and what we were thinking saying YES :-)
We didn't think that anything may go different way we wish...
We didn't realise how different are the normal days are...
We've been the most happy people of the world..
Did we understand the marriage vow?
We think, that NOT AT ALL!
Even sharing a flat before we've got married, we really don't know how its gonna be when prose of the life come in to our marriage.
And now, after 7-8 years since that pretty day, we listen to the marriage vow again, and just say - we recited the empty words...
We didn't know their meaning. Kids, sickness, financial difficulties, different life ideas, different family education and just tiredness of each other...if we can go thru all of this together...we may fulfill and learn the meaning of the marriage.
And hopefully we still want to go together thru the life.
If I know that before, would I say I DO to him?
I thankfully still think I would:-)
I just wonder If the meaning will be similar for another 10, 20, 30 years...
I am even starting to think about a wife's of my son's :-)
I should stop talking now...life brings the answer.
So I'm gonna to enjoy every single day together and taste the life.
That's it!

May picnic at botanic garden!

It's not going to be about tiredness, lactation issues, parenting obstacles or any other bad things today.
Grab your coffee and a chocolate bar (sic!), sit in your cosy chair (alone) and relax! It's May Bank Holiday, so I am going to share a few photos (we've got a million, so was so hard to choose some for you...) and give you some way how to spend the days off with your family - and its FREE:-)

Only when we went there I realised that we go there every year for a first May weekend!
The place is named National Botanic Gardens Glasnevin in Dublin.
What is important for the families with couple of children - the entrance is free and you can walk there how long you want to. We are going there when is colder or raining as well, because they have few closed areas that you can look at rare flowers or cacti.
Franek loves going there, because of the cacti! Do you remember, that in Cars from Disney Lightening McQuinn came up in to cacti:-)
The only one disadvantage I can see, is that you are not allowed to bring the bikes.
We sat in exactly same place where before and I could remember how Franek was crawling there few years ago:-)
This year was a time for Janek. He was so excited running around and between bushes and flowers.
Going there we feel that spring definitely is here and summer just approaching:-) Hopefully!
I had to bring a picnic blanket and tableweare set to make a real picnic.
When we came in there, Franek has choosen the place and managed to put everything in place:-)
And we enjoyed those couple of minutes when you can lay down on the grass,
look on the sky and just listen to the nature:-)
Janek has got VERY dirty at the end of the trip, but this was obvious if I decided to wear him white trousers:-)) My hubbie said he doesn't like this style but I love to make Sunday a special day and let him wear something different than sport suit.

This was a lovely day. One of those I wasn't thinking about a job and how many things left to do at home.
We just enjoyed the sun.

This week will be two months I switched to the blog, so for this occasion I'm preparing a special surprise:-) Watch me in the next days...
