Ireland's Eye

Brrr..I think the Autumn is coming..
It was really cold and raining in here today.
Crowds in the shopping centre...what we're gonna do in such a weather???
Yes - Autumn is really close. I hope that next weekend will be still sunny, because we have a plan to go to the farm.
While we've been kissed by the rain, I am sharing our last week trip to the very secret place - Ireland's Eye, Howth.
This is an island, we could always see going to Malahide or Howth marina.
We've been always thinking - what is there?
Is it private or anyone is living there?
I didn't know.
But one of our friends just told us, that we can go there by boat.
If you just klick on the link above - you can book a trip to the island with Irish Ferries.
We went there quite late afternoon, so couldn't stay too long, but the weather was still great and sightseeing - amazing!
Boys were running around happy to feel this kind of freedom, when no one else is there and you can just do, what you like.
There are only birds. Lots of birds.
And brilliant beach.
My advice is - put lots of fruits, drinks and snacks to your picnic basket and go there early morning to stay there for a day.
Would be grand :-)
Another thing happened that day!
Franek was frightened going on to the boat.
On the way in, he sat very close to me and was keeping my hand.
But he loved it, and on the way back,
he was brave enough to seat opposite us, just himself and was observing everything around.
Fantastic adventure!

I've been doing my first grocery shopping online last night, so I'll tell you a little bit about it next time - I'll have a some small give away nearly ready, so see you shortly :-)

My family town - memories Part last...(4)

I left about 15 years ago...
But anytime I'm going back, I feel a butterflies in my stomach!
Who knows why? Is there so many memories from my childhood?
Maybe it was the best time. I was happy and safe there...
Will be Ireland same for my little boys?
Anyway...Going home this time, I had a plan, that I'll go thru most important places with Franek, tell him a little bit more about me and my family.
But...it didn't happen. We had no time for it!
Can you believe? Had not enough time to do everything I wanted, on holiday.
I thought I take a million of fantastic pictures - didn't happen.
I really was not satisfied.
Come back to the topic.
My family town is Malbork.
This is quite small town in Nothern Poland.
I'm not going to give you a history lesson. But the town has something special.
This is a Malbork castle.
It is the largest castle in a world and the biggest brick building in Europe.
Yes. Worth to see.
The town itself had the best times in a past.
It is a mixture of old and modern style.
But its getting better and more interesting every year I visit it.
And I have some MY places there:-)
On the day, when I was ready to go for a long walk around, Franek refused to go and I went just with Janek.
It wasn't too long walk. I was not able to take pictures and run after him between hundreds of tourist around the castle.
But we visited Malbork railway station the other day, all together..
Yes. Railway station. Its just got refurbished. There is a picture with Franek.
Janek loves trains at the moment, so we went there to show them trains and have a look at the station, because its an antique building as well, which welcomes everyone coming to town by train:-)
I was really happy to see, that it came back to his best look.
Sitting and waiting for a train, its a pleasure there.
Janek was so excited, that wanted to get in to the first train straight away:-)
We've been sitting and just looking on the trains minimum 40 minutes at least!
Yes. This was a big attraction for them.
Not the castle yet.
This way I'm closing the summer holiday part.
If you'll ever go to Poland, check if Malbork is on your way - this place is really worth to visit. It takes about 3 hours to go around the castle itself. And you can have a visit at night too!
And there is few places nice for the kids too, such as Jumpy Park and Dino Park:-)
Hope I'll go thru everything with both boys next time..

Did you ever hear about Sopot?

So...where have we been on holiday?
We went to our family home - back to Poland.
Kids are born here, in IRL. But mama is from Nothern Poland.
I love going to sun guaranteed places such as Greece or Spain.
But have to go home from time to time.
How do you call it? Come back to roots?
I think it means even more, when we are full family - with kids.
They just starting to understand, what I am talking about.
About places where I was going to school, had a childhood friends, and my places of kiddies games:-)
I just love Polish sea and its resorts.
I couldn't find this special spirit anywhere else.
Sopot - this is a place I would stay for life if I could.
Always life. Summer and winter.
We had to go there with boys, because We had a doctor appointment there.
We had a plan to stay on the beach as well.
Finally we've been little bit late, so we had a walk on the pier.
It is like a wooden bridge going far in to the sea. I think its the longest and the oldest in Europe.
There is a very picturesque main street (Monte Casino). Full of interesting shops  and great restaurants.
Grand Hotel..Marina...
And many, many more...

Sopot is a part of three cities of Nothern Poland, which are like a neighbours, very close each other - Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot - and each has its own, specific style, worth to see...:-)
The weather was just great this year. Very sunny and hot!
After visit to the doctor, we went on the beach and boys had a great play at the sea - I had not really - watching on them at every second there:-)
Tired and excited were coming back home.

But Sopot is not my family town yet - if you want to know where I come from - come back to us shortly ...

Preparing for Easter - Part 1.

When I started to write the blog, I have completely got lost in a time.  I suddenly understood, that Easter  is coming and I have to get things into my hands and start to organise something!

We've been cleaning whole the house yesterday (we did not wash the windows - it is snowing and freezing - YES - just before Easter I went with Franek to make a snowman:-) I was so happy, when Franek asked me, if he could help. At first, I thought, it's not gonna to work...but I gave him a cleaning spray and cloth, explained how to take all his toys from the shelf, dust off and put them back on. And he did it perfectly! Ladies, you should allow to get help from your men. It may work, and I was doing a couple of different things in the same time:-)

I had a plan to paint and decorate eggs today. We've done just 3, but it was a lot of mess around, specially with Janek. Because Janek is so mad, I did not allowed him to paint so far..( I know, he should to try doing everything, it is good for his hands and creativity, but I just knew, what's gonna to happen). He loved painting and wanted to paint all over the room:-) I am not a big artist myself, so I said, I am not gonna do too much. I just allowed to do as much as possible for gays. Specially Franek loves to do some arts and crafts, so eggs painting kept him busy and excited all the morning.

I've been at work today, so I feel really tired, and I still thinking what else left to do. Shopping, baking, cooking and ironing and.. did I forget about something? I have that silly thinking, I have to be perfect in everything...Work perfect, be the best mum - spending most off the time playing with children, and being the perfect house wife:-) House has to be shiny and the fridge full of tasty, homemade food! Hallo girls, to be honest, no one is the best in everything. Take it easy, I am saying to you and to myself.

Let's take a bath and do manicure and massage instead! Oh, it's not gonna to happen in my case...probably:-) I am not born as a kitchen chef, so cooking for any special occasion makes me so stressed.
