My family town - memories Part last...(4)

I left about 15 years ago...
But anytime I'm going back, I feel a butterflies in my stomach!
Who knows why? Is there so many memories from my childhood?
Maybe it was the best time. I was happy and safe there...
Will be Ireland same for my little boys?
Anyway...Going home this time, I had a plan, that I'll go thru most important places with Franek, tell him a little bit more about me and my family.
But...it didn't happen. We had no time for it!
Can you believe? Had not enough time to do everything I wanted, on holiday.
I thought I take a million of fantastic pictures - didn't happen.
I really was not satisfied.
Come back to the topic.
My family town is Malbork.
This is quite small town in Nothern Poland.
I'm not going to give you a history lesson. But the town has something special.
This is a Malbork castle
It is the largest castle in a world and the biggest brick building in Europe.
Yes. Worth to see.
The town itself had the best times in a past.
It is a mixture of old and modern style.
But its getting better and more interesting every year I visit it.
And I have some MY places there:-)
On the day, when I was ready to go for a long walk around, Franek refused to go and I went just with Janek.
It wasn't too long walk. I was not able to take pictures and run after him between hundreds of tourist around the castle.
But we visited Malbork railway station the other day, all together..
Yes. Railway station. Its just got refurbished. There is a picture with Franek.
Janek loves trains at the moment, so we went there to show them trains and have a look at the station, because its an antique building as well, which welcomes everyone coming to town by train:-)
I was really happy to see, that it came back to his best look.
Sitting and waiting for a train, its a pleasure there.
Janek was so excited, that wanted to get in to the first train straight away:-)
We've been sitting and just looking on the trains minimum 40 minutes at least!
Yes. This was a big attraction for them.
Not the castle yet.
This way I'm closing the summer holiday part.
If you'll ever go to Poland, check if Malbork is on your way - this place is really worth to visit. It takes about 3 hours to go around the castle itself. And you can have a visit at night too!
And there is few places nice for the kids too, such as Jumpy Park and Dino Park:-)
Hope I'll go thru everything with both boys next time..

Country festive and other stuff - continued memories...

Let's keep this fantastic summer spirit as long as possible!
As I said earlier We went home for holiday.
We went there as well, because we've been all invited for a wedding.
It was the first time, when I decided to go with kids.
I knew, it might be a little bit less fun for me, but I hoped that children will have a fun and will remember such a special event as a wedding within the family.
My parents took me for a couple of wedding, when I was a child and I loved it.
I had no idea, how my kids will go with it.
They are boys, so they might not be fancy with a special occasion wear and
how they'll get on with so many unknown people:-)
Off course they wouldn't stay in the church too long. Only few minutes, to be honest. As you can see on the picture below, Franek was bored and lied down on some bench. Janek had a walk around with Mr Daddy:-)
But when the wedding party started, they both have been dancing with me until they've got tired. They didn't run away or had no some stupid ideas how to play.
They've been plying and singing with us till about 9 pm, and than went, with no issues, to my sister home, so we could stay there with no worries, to the end.
I was so happy, that I took them there!
I just have no pictures, because we've been busy all the time:-)
Next day we had additional family dinner on the country side so kids could go around on the big, new, shiny tractor (will never forget it).
Next week we took part in a country festive called pardon.
There were a bouncing castles for kids and dancing with life music to the late.
As you can see, everyone could have  a great fun..
What else you want when on holiday?
Next time I'll take you to my family town, as I promised:-)

Did you ever hear about Sopot?

So...where have we been on holiday?
We went to our family home - back to Poland.
Kids are born here, in IRL. But mama is from Nothern Poland.
I love going to sun guaranteed places such as Greece or Spain.
But have to go home from time to time.
How do you call it? Come back to roots?
I think it means even more, when we are full family - with kids.
They just starting to understand, what I am talking about.
About places where I was going to school, had a childhood friends, and my places of kiddies games:-)
I just love Polish sea and its resorts.
I couldn't find this special spirit anywhere else.
Sopot - this is a place I would stay for life if I could.
Always life. Summer and winter.
We had to go there with boys, because We had a doctor appointment there.
We had a plan to stay on the beach as well.
Finally we've been little bit late, so we had a walk on the pier.
It is like a wooden bridge going far in to the sea. I think its the longest and the oldest in Europe.
There is a very picturesque main street (Monte Casino). Full of interesting shops  and great restaurants.
Grand Hotel..Marina...
And many, many more...

Sopot is a part of three cities of Nothern Poland, which are like a neighbours, very close each other - Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot - and each has its own, specific style, worth to see...:-)
The weather was just great this year. Very sunny and hot!
After visit to the doctor, we went on the beach and boys had a great play at the sea - I had not really - watching on them at every second there:-)
Tired and excited were coming back home.

But Sopot is not my family town yet - if you want to know where I come from - come back to us shortly ...

The flight - memories part 1.

I knew, it's not going to be ease..
Our flight was in the afternoon, so I thought, we have plenty of time to prepare and I had no plan to rush.
Finally the taxi man had to wait!
And forgot to remove fresh food from the fridge:-)
Reached the airport. Ok. Still a lot of time.
But you know, every one has to go to the loo. Separately.
Remember to buy some water!
And how my little fellows went thru?
Franek is a perfect child for any kind of travelling.
He keeps attached to your leg and doesn't run away. Is interested in a journey and loves planes and airport just now, so he felt like in haven there!
Janek - We could predict that: he didn't want to seat in his pushchair at all.
So I've got some kind of security belts for him, to keep him close.
He was happy to wear them at first. Didn't know what it is, poor boy:-)
Once he realised that those belts going to limit his freedom, he has got mad and lied down on the floor when couldn't move away any more...
Thankfully, Janek had quite good mood and we've been able to keep him on the knees in the plane. Finished with pain in every muscle at the end:-)

Do you ask yourself, what are you gonna to wear for a flight?
Or you just put on anything?
When I was a child and had to go for a class trip, my mum was wearing me sports suit. Yes. She was saying that this is the most comfortable, and easy to put on and off. When the weight of the luggage was important, I had to wear some heavy pieces - to carry on the lighter backpack!
I still have this rule in my head, and put some heavy jacket on me.
Kids had to feel comfortable and prepared for changing weather as well, so I gave them long trousers and some jumpers on hand.
I just wonder if you have any special ideas for travel packaging?
I discovered that is no point to carry anything you not wearing on daily basis.
It's really low chance you gonna wear it on holiday too...unless its something for special occasion which is going to happen!
Few words about our destination next time...
